The Nile is steadily dying, with its tributaries and channels drying up, threatening the livelihoods of millions of people who rely on its nutrient-rich waters. Some of this is due to the river's natural cycle - portions of the Nile have previously dried up, causing entire towns to vanish, such as ancient Meroe. However, a large building project upriver is putting the river's existence in jeopardy. We investigate what's going on and consider potential remedies to this coming disaster.
