An Introduction to Animal Husbandry

Animal breeding is one of the important aspects of animal husbandry. It involves two main techniques viz. inbreeding and outbreeding. Through inbreeding and selective selection, pure lines of hybrids with no recessive characters are obtained. Outbreeding involves breeding between unrelated animals and can be carried out by three ways. These are out-crossing, cross-breeding and inter-specific hybridization.
